Closing Time: The Closure of CPAHQ

KLONDIKE, Club Penguin Army Headquarters – After 509 days as the leading organization in the army community, it is time for CPAHQ to close its doors.

When Club Penguin Army Headquarters was founded on February 7th, 2021, it was a very strange time in the community.  Objectively speaking, depression had hit the entire community.  The collapse of Club Penguin Army Hub coincided with the closure of Flash player, culminating in an unprecedented time for the armies who were in existence at the time.

From a personal standpoint, I viewed my time in Club Penguin armies as complete.  I did not plan on being involved in another organization ever again.  But, in the twilight of January 2021, I was asked to become the Chief Executive Officer of this organization.  Though I initially wanted to decline, I recalled my personal mission I established in 2019 with Club Penguin Armies, which was to only leave the community when a stable organization was bestowed upon the community.  Thus, I felt that my journey in CP armies was not over as I initially thought it was.  After changing the position title to Director in Chief, the rest is simply history.

January 21st, 2021.

With Club Penguin Army Headquarters, my personal mission was achieved.  I am confident that what we built here would be able to withstand the sands of time.  And that could not have been achieved without so many wonderful people.  Everyone who was ever involved with CPAHQ can rest easy knowing that it will go down as one of the most stable, innovative organizations this community has ever seen.

Despite all of this, CPAHQ’s time has come to an end.  But this is not because the wheels stopped turning.  Rather, CPAHQ was the groundwork for something bigger.  This organization would never be one to stand in front of progress, and that is exactly why we are ready to say farewell to the community.  Club Penguin Armies has been revived, uniting the community once again.  It would not have been possible without all the hard work that was put into CPAHQ to establish it as a media powerhouse.

Let this organization be remembered wholly.  Whether your biggest takeaway from CPAHQ’s reign is the fiasco that was March Madness 2021, or the innovation that was Project: Conquest, viewing the organization with a magnifying glass is a disservice to all that was accomplished here.  I am confident when I say that the Headquarters revolutionized the world of army media.  Years from now, organizations will still be looking to what took place here as a guide on how to build something that lasts.  That, my friends, is the legacy of CPAHQ.

I would like to personally highlight a couple of people before closing this post.

Kingfunks4: You were the main person to give me the opportunity as Director in Chief.  But you were also the driving force behind CPAHQ as a whole.  There is a reason why we refer to YOU as the founder.  Since HQ’s birth, you’ve demonstrated your tremendous passion for media and flaunted your expertise throughout all of the ups and downs.  I like to think that CPAHQ is the crown jewel of your storied army career- and what a way to go out.

Vanish/Grayrockett: You served as the first-ever Vice Director below me, and I could not have asked for a stronger rock during the early days of CPAHQ.  One of the most important things you showed me was that media experience is not a requirement to excel at being an administrator.  I was sceptical of what you would bring to the table at first but quickly realized that I had been gifted a strong ally when it came to leading this organization.  It could not have been done without you.

Sidie9: One of the best decisions I ever made was bringing you into the administration.  You showed such promise early on despite not having much experience either.  I want the record to show that you were a net positive to this organization.  In more ways than anyone will ever know, you were valuable to how the administration worked.  Hiring you ushered CPAHQ into its resurgence after the early months of trial and error.  I view it as one of the most pivotal moments in this organization’s history.

Spotty: One of my favorite things about CPAHQ is the prioritization of finding new media talent in the community.  There is no greater example than Spotty for this.  She worked her way up to the Vice Director rank by bootstrapping herself through the editors level of the organization.  I’ve never met a person with a stronger willingness to learn, which is such a valuable trait for an administrator.  When people think about CPAHQ, they should think about you as much as anyone else.

Max: Max’s media talent needs no more attention.  Everyone is aware that he possesses one of the most gifted pens that the community has ever had the pleasure of seeing.  But he is so much more than that.  His passion for this community is simply unmatched by anyone else.  Whenever I had a moment of weakness- where I thought it was pointless to keep this organization going- Max rekindled the flame.  He embodies what CPAHQ strives to be with his innovation and dedication to serving the community.

Obviously, so many people were involved in this incredible organization.  If I had the time, I would go into every single person who made CPAHQ what it was.  But that would make this post just too long.

Going forward, CPAHQ will remain closed.  The website’s domain and css will expire, but the posts here will be preserved.  The Discord will also be preserved.  Community members are welcome to continue using the chat.  The rights to CPAHQ will rest with the current administration of myself, Max, Spotty, and Crazzy, as well as Kingfunks4 and Superhero123. Below is a statement from one of the founders, Kingfunks4:

It is with both huge disappointment and pride that we come to the end of the lifespan of CPA Headquarters. When we first established this organisation, there was no clear aim or drive but to try to bring the community back together following the turmoil that had come before. However, through the vision of an amazing administration, editor and staff team, we built an organisation that innovated for the community. Some mistakes were made in the early stages, but this is inevitable and I am so proud of the impact we have had on the community. There were many people that were key to our success, and those people know who they are and I appreciate them so very much, but I must highlight the remarkable work that DMT has put into making CPAHQ into what it is today – his work as Director in Chief has been something that even I, with my experience as CPAC CEO, learnt so much from. I wish the community good luck with the next part of your journey, I know that there will be more successes to come.

Thank you for all the support over the years.  You, the reader, made it possible for CPAHQ to establish our mission statement: innovation for the community.  You gave us the platform to experiment with how to make armies a better place.  You are responsible for the success of CPAHQ as much as its staff is.

Happy trails till we meet again!
