FatChicken88 Bids his Farewell to the Clovers

MAMMOTH, Army of Club Penguin Capital – After leading the army for 3 whole months, FatChicken88 has decided to step down from the leadership at Army of Club Penguin. What was the cause behind this decision of his? What kind of an impact will it have on the future of the army?

On the 5th of December, FatChicken88 made an official announcement on the army’s website stating that he would be retiring from the position of Leader that he held in the Army of Club Penguin. In the post, he reminisces about his journey in the army, from being a troop to eventually leading the army, and expresses his gratitude and respect towards the people who supported and guided him through this experience. Before concluding his message, he inducted Jesus1_4 as the 48th Commander-in-Cheif of the Army of Club Penguin, and bid farewell to his Green Family.

The Army of Club Penguin was the first-ever army of Club Penguin and was formed by Oagalthorp, on the 29th of September, 2006. After the army’s initial shutdown, Mchappy and Chainpro revived the army on the 29th of September, 2019, since then the army has achieved the 1st position in the official weekly Top Ten Armies numerous times, and has even triumphed against Rebel Penguin Federation at the Holiday Championships Tournament in early January 2020. They hosted their very own tournament – Aces of Ausia on the 28th of November, and have their own community-running newspaper known as the Shamrock Bulletin which was introduced by then-Leader CSY, on the 8th of July, 2020. Apart from this, the army has also taken part in Legends Cup X in June, 2020, the Fright or Fight tournament in November 2020, and March Madness, this year. They won Project: Conquest, that took place this year during the month of June. At the end of August, this year the army witnessed a mass retirement, where a lot of exemplary and beloved leaders and higher command members stepped down from their positions, giving birth to a new generation of the army at the beginning of September, which was being led by FatChicken. On the 29th of September, 2021 the army completed 15 years of existence. A separate page on their webiste has been dedicated to the army’s history, titled, “ACP Saga” which gives the history of the army from September, 2019 to the present day.

FatChicken88 was recruited into the Army of Club Penguin by Cubster on the 31st of March, 2020. After being an active troop for a few months, Chicken rose through the ranks and achieved the position of a Moderator. He attained the position of a Field General, during the month of February, this year, before he was promoted to General (third-in-command) on the 7th of March, 2021. On the 1st of September this month, he was inducted as the 47th Commander-in-Chief of the army, and served as a leader for 3 full months, before announcing his retirement. It was under his leadership, that the Fourth Clover Crusade (the 4th war between the Army of Club Penguin, and the Templars) took place and this war titled, the “War of No Revenge” was won by the army. With him as a leader, the army offered their support to their allies, the Help Force in their war against the Silver Empire, and would later go on to form the Vengeance Alliance with the Help Force, Red Ravagers, and the People’s Imperial Confederation that fought against the Western Bloc during World War VIII. The army also celebrated its 15th Anniversary, while he was the Leader. One can get to know more about him, through this article, which features an interview with him, about how he found out about the army, his experience as a troop, and what made him want to participate and be active in the army.

CPAHQ had the opportunity to have a talk with FatChicken88 about his thoughts on retiring, and how his journey has been as a Leader.

Why did you decide to retire?

I thought it was about time to be honest. I’ve been in ACP for over a year and a half and mainly stayed behind and led in order to ensure a next generation was able to be transitioned to (since back then the current HCOM team were still lower ranked moderators).

What are your thoughts on the kind of impact, your retirement will have on the army?

I don’t think my retirement will have a drastic effect on the army. I’m confident in the abilities of my successors in making ACP better than I could and returning its Major Army status in the process.

Do you think you were able to execute all that you had planned for the army, during your time?

I think I managed to achieve all my major goals, and also got a lot of additional things on the way (personal achievements and fun experiences I didn’t expect to go through).

What has been the best thing about being a leader?

The thrill and fun that comes with delegating out jobs and general running the army really. Also, it allowed me to get way closer to other people in ACP and strengthen my friendships.

Can you share your favorite memory/memories of the army with me, if it’s not too personal?

It’s a massive list and difficult to pick up individual memories, but some notable moments/periods are the Fright or Fight/March Madness tournaments and my time in the ACP HCOM before getting to leader.

Will you be coming back in the future, sometime?

I will most likely remain retired in the foreseeable future, however, I may return for advisory positions.

Before we conclude, is there anything else you would like to say, or any advice you would like to give to the readers in general?

Not really.

Although FatChicken has retired from the leadership, he has faith that the Army of Club Penguin will continue to go on strong, and leave an impact on the army community, as it always has. The community will miss him dearly, and we wish him all the best, for all his future endeavors.
